Unskippable: Our Favourite Anne-Marie Tracks
Opening in Welsh capital Cardiff on 20 November, we cannot wait for Anne-Marie’s, upcoming The Unhealthy Club tour to kick off in the UK very soon, where the pop icon will be celebrating her latest album ‘Unhealthy’ plus performing all of her loved hits.
In anticipation of this tour just around the corner, we’ve taken a trip down memory lane to reminisce over the last eight years of bangers from the pop superstar. Although we must say, with so many incredible singles, collaborations and even a movie soundtrack single…this was a hard one to whittle down!
So, in no particular order…
2002
Released in 2018 and peaking at number three in the UK Charts, ‘2002’ is arguably one of Anne-Marie’s biggest ever solo hits! It also further put the singer on the map worldwide, reaching number one in South Korea’s, end of 2019 charts - and making her the first ever, non-Korean singer to do so! It’s success is hardly surprising giving the warmth nostalgia of this catchy love ballad which pays homage to the many, loved noughties hits gone by.
Kiss My (Uh Oh)
Very little needs to be explained when two pop powerhouses are put together for one incredible collaboration. Released in 2021, it’s safe to say that fans were more than excited to see Anne-Marie join forces with unstoppable all-female group Little Mix for the ultimate, girl power breakup anthem!
FRIENDS
Of course we couldn’t just include one collaboration when we’re talking about the queen of epic, pop collabs. Teaming up with multi-platinum DJ and producer Marshmello, their dance anthem ‘FRIENDS’ exploded onto the scene in 2018, with a sass-filled pop, dance anthem that commands your attention; and it did. The single shot to number one in multiple countries worldwide, plus saw Anne-Marie bursting onto the US scene.
Perfect
This deep-cut from Anne-Marie’s 2018 album ‘Speak Your Mind’, sees the singer let us into a more emotional, raw side of her. Wearing her heart on her sleeve, she opens up to us about her insecurities, the relationship with her body and herself, and her hopes for the future. Not only is the song a breath of fresh air in a saturated pop word, it’s also the perfect ode to celebrating your body, living your life to the fullest and loving whoever you want.
UNHEALTHY
Two words: SHANIA TWAIN. A lot of incredible things can happen just from a private DM and this is one of them; as a big fan of the global superstar, Anne-Marie reached out to Shania Twain to collaborate and soon this huge hit was born. All about toxic relationships and having a bit too much of something you shouldn’t, the song equally matches these themes with a larger-than-life, in your face sound. It’s the pop, country, dance fusion we didn’t know we needed.
