It’s nearing that time of year when we put on our wellies and head to the beautiful Blenheim Palace for another fantastic Countryfile Live and this year Castle Howard plays host as well. With so much to do and see, we don’t want you to miss a thing, so here’s our list of the top 10 unmissable things to do at BBC Countryfile Live 2019. 

  1. Head to the Dog Lovers Arena 

The Dog Lover Arena will show the amazing ability of pooches, with demonstrations, competitions and performances. Expect to see working gun dogs, sheep dogs and more flamboyant performances. And if you think your pooch has got the X-factor, Scruffts have chosen BBC Countryfile Live to host one of their heats for the crossbreed competition.

2. Splash about on the Waterside 

If you want to do something a little more active at BBC Countryfile Live, why not go fishing, paddle-boarding, canoeing or kayaking. It’s bound to hook you in.

3. Grab some grub 

The Graze Inn plays host to eight artisan food produces, so you can enjoy a delectable lunch, whilst enjoying the talents of great local acts. 

4. Visit the Farmyard

There will be informative talks, demonstrations and animal-themed activities. You can learn about raising livestock, farming methods, the food chain and environmental issues. You can also see live sheep shearing, a pig agility course and a cow-milking demonstration.

5. Jump aboard with Driving Experiences

Fancy a spin? Visitors can pre-book a free 15 minute slot with Mercedes-Benz World Driving Instructors. If you’re keen to get behind the wheel or in the passenger seat, head to the Mercedes-Benz stand first to secure your slot. 

You can also get up close with a selection of Jaguar vehicles, whilst the kids can have a spin on remote-controlled I-PACES. MINI off-road driving experience returns, you can get behind the wheel of a MINI Countryman and take on off-road obstacles, balance beams and 45 degree seesaw. 

You’ll also get the chance to check-out models from the MINI range, climb into a MINI roof-top tent, relax and play games in our garden area and visit the MINI Lifestyle Shop.

6. Don’t forget to stop by The Mane Arena 

A cast of incredible creatures are lined up to impress you, with Falconry displays, the Dog and Duck Show, terrier racing, Shetland Derby and Extreme Mountain Biking. Don’t miss these Mane events.

7. Join the exclusive Riverside Club

If you want to escape the hustle and bustle, get tickets to the Riverside Club – its the ultimate members experience. You’ll get privileged parking, a comfortable base and a concierge, as well as complimentary drinks and snacks – including tea, coffee, wine and prosecco.

8 .The STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® British Championship (Blenheim Palace only)

Revving back into BBC Countryfile Live featuring the highlights of the British season with the British Championship on Saturday 3 August and Rookie Championship on Sunday 4 August.

9. Visit the Village Green

Enjoy the Brass Bands, Maypole Dancing, Morris Dancing and Croquet. 

10. Stop by the National Trust Theatre

This year the National Trust Theatre will be focusing on how best to look after nature and the countryside and how the countryside can look after us – in a nutshell, how can nature improve our sense of well-being?
