In Conversation with: Ghost Huns

Since 2022, Hannah Byczkowski and Suzie Preece have been trying to scare the masses (including themselves…) And what better platform to do that on than a podcast?! Bringing both laughs and spooks to your ears each week, the hilarious and fearless duo will soon be on road bringing Ghost Huns to a stage near you, live! We grabbed five minutes with Hannah and Suzie to discuss their upcoming tour, all things podcast-y, and of course, ghosts.

Hey Ghost Huns! To kick things off we’d love to know where it all began. How did you come up with the concept (and the great name)?

We went for brunch one afternoon, had loads of champagne, and realised we loved all things spooky and drunkenly decided to start a podcast. We wanted to do a spooky podcast that appeals to everyone, makes you laugh and show that spooky bitches can be cool too. We wanted a name that tells you what it says on the tin.

For new listeners, how would you describe the podcast in just three words?

Creepy, hilarious, haunted.

You’ve had some seriously weird and wacky stories since the podcast started in 2022, but what’s your most stand-out tale yet?

It’s got to be our first story about Lynn who peeks at you around corners. Watch out husbands…

What can we look forward to on the pod in 2024…any surprises? Special guests?

There’s loads to look forward to, but we can’t let the cat out the bag just yet. But you can expect merch, a live tour and celebrity guests (and a possible INTERNATIONAL ghost hunt!!)

And, if you are open to guests, who would your dream guests be? (alive or dead!)

All the things you love about the pod, but we’re not going to give away our secrets that easily…There’ll be jump scares, potions and TOTE BAGS.

With podcasts more popular than ever, what advice would you give to someone thinking about starting their own podcast?

Just start! Be consistent and make sure it’s about something you actually love. The first step is the hardest, but once you begin, it’ll take care of itself.

If you had to do a podcast on a totally different topic, what would you choose?

S: If Hannah does a podcast about anything else I will dead her.

H: If Suzie does a podcast about anything else after she’s dead-ed me, I’ll haunt her.

And finally, if you were a ghost for the day, what kind of shenanigans would you get up to?
